A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, PROVIDING
FOR THE GENERAL ELECTION TO BE HELD ON
DECEMBER 16th, 1930.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1. That for the purpose of holding and conduct-
ing the General Election of the City of
Miami Beach, Florida, on December 16th, 1930, five elec-
tion boards be provided, the registration books of said
City to be divided into five parts alphabetically, and
that for said purpose E. LeRoy Saffer, William McGee,
Hugh Larrick, J. F. Burch, Edison Kipp, Ralph S. Tyson,
Albert Barry, Joseph Dulbs, Rose Weiss, Al Bowes, Frank
B. Vasey, W. W. Shippy, James Hyamson, Milton Farr and
M. L. Meyers be and they are hereby appointed inspectors,
and J. P. Caldwell, M. L. Woodward, Van C. Kussrow, R. L.
Ellis and Erroll Crawford be and they are hereby appointed
clerks, which names the City Clerk shall certify to the
Mayor.
SECTION 2. That said General Election be held at any
convenient place at the City Hall in the
City of Miami Beach, Florida.
SECTION 3. That said election be held from 8 o 'clock
A. M. until sundown on December 16th, 1930,
for the purpose of electing a Mayor and five City Coun-
cilmen, all of which persons shall hold office for the
term of two years, and/or until their successors are
regularly elected and qualified, except that the two
Councilmen who shall, receive the highest number of votes
at such election shall hold office for the term of four
years, and/or until their successors are regularly elec-
ted and qualified.
SECTION 4. That thirty days notice of said election
shall be given by the Mayor of said City by
posting the notice hereinafter provided for thirty days
in three conspicuous places in the City of Miami Beach,
to-wit: at the Police Station, at Fire Station No. 2
and at the City Hall, and shall be published once each
week for a period of thirty days next preceding such
election in the Miami Beach Sun and the Miami Beach
Times, newspapers published in the City of Miami Beach.,
Florida.
SECTION 5 . That said inspectors and clerks shall certi-
fy the result of said election to said City
Council immediately after holding of said election.
SECTION 6. That said notice of election shall be in
substantially the following form:
"Notice is given that a general election
will be held at the City Hall in the City of Miami Beach,
Florida, from 8 o 'clock A. M. until sundown on December
16th, 1930, for the purpose of electing the following
officers of said City:
One person to fill the office of Mayor
Five persons as members of the City Council,
the two receiving the highest number of votes as Coun-
cilmen to hold office for the terms of four years. All
other officers so elected shall hold office for the
term of two years.
E. LeRoy Saffer, William McGee, Hugh Larrick,
J. F. Burch, Edison Kipp, Ralph S. Tyson, Albert Barry,
Joseph Duibs, Rose Weiss, Al Bowes, Frank B. Vasey,
W. W. Shippy, James Hyamson, Milton Farr and M. L.
Meyers have been appointed inspectors, and J. P. Cald-
well, M. L. Woodward, Van C. Kussrow, R. L. Ellis and
Erroll Crawford have been appointed clerks for the pur-
pose of holding and conducting said election at said
time and place.
The registration books of said City will be
open for the purpose of registering any person quali-
fied to vote at such election until December 9th,1930.
Persons properly registered who have paid
their 1928 and 1929 poll taxes on or before December
9th, 1930, will be qualified to vote in said election.

SECTION 7. That the form of ballot to be used at said
election shall hereafter be provided for.
