Resolution 2546 RESOLUTION NO. 25 .6
WHEREAS by Resolution No. 2480 of the City Count
cil of the City of Miami Beach, part of which Resolu-
tion is an agreement dated the 17th day of September,
1931, by and between the City of Miami Beach, Florida,
and Florida Power & Light Company, relative to street
lighting, it is provided among other things that:
Should the consumer at any time or times dur-
ing the life of saidagreement in preparing
the annual budget for the City of Miami Beach,
decide that the financial condition of said
City is such as to necessitate a reduction in
the City's operating expenses including street
lighting expenses, the Company will at such
time or times reduce said minimum requirements
at the request of the City Council by the tem-
porary discontinuance of street lights operat-
ed under the terms of said contract as might
be designated by the consumer, such reduction
in each case to be not less than the period
of the City' s usual and normal fiscal year as
a minimum time, but that said discontinuance
of said street lights be in such a manner so
that in no event shall the minimum annual
bill of the consumer be less than equal to
that based on the installation as set forth
in saidontract;
and,
WHEREAS, the said City Council is now preparing
the annual buget for said City and have decided that
the financial condition of the City is such as to nec-
essitate a reduction in street lighting expenses as
above set forth,
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUN-
CIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA That the
Florida Power & Light Company be requested to reduce
the candle power of street lights operated under the
terms of the abovementioned contract as hereinafter set
forth, effective June 20th, 1932:
