RESOLUTION NO. 2691
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI
BEACH, FLORIDA, URGING A REDUCTION
OF PASSENGER RATES BY ALL CARRIERS
RUNNING INTO THE STATE OF FLORIDA.
WHEREAS it has been observed that many of the
railroads have recently announced lower passenger
rates and the waiving of the Pullman surcharge,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF I IANI BEACH, FLORIDA, that all of the
railroads carrying passengers into the State of Florida
be and they are hereby urged to take immediate steps
towards the granting of similar passenger fare reduc-
tions in order tc help increase the number of those
travelling to Florida for the winter season.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that all of said railroads
be and they are hereby urged to consider the extension
of such special excursion rates as they may plan to
Miami, to extend for a period of not less than thirty
days and, if possible, for a period of ninety days in
order to make such excursions attractive to winter
tourists.
