Resolution 3008 RESOLUTION NO. 3008
WHEREAS, it is our belief that the present Naval
and Coast defensesof the United States are inadequate to
offer serious defence against an invading enemy, and
WHEREAS, it is our belief that adequate air forces,
placed at strategic points along our coasts, inland fron-
tiers and on our insular possessions would be a powerful
help to our present equipment in discouraging or repelling
invasion,
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF L ANI BEACH, FLORIDA, in regular meeting
assembled, that we hereby urge upon the President and the
Congress of the United States, the Federal Aviation Com-
mission, the Tar Department , and all other Governmental
Departments directly or indirectly responsible for the
National Defense, that the Ua.ited States Government make
further and adequate provision for the National Defense
by greatly expanding the Air Forces of the Nation, estab-
lishing a system of Air Frontier Defense bases along our
coasts and inland frontiers, with adequate supplemental
bases at strategically located interior points; that simi-
lar provision be made for our insular possessions, and
that such Air Forces be properly equipped and especially
trained in frontier and coast defense problems;
