COMMISSION MEMORANDUM NO. Jg29
TO: Mayor Seymour Gelber and
Members of the City Commission
FROM: Jose Garcia -Pedrosa
City Manager
DATE: April 16, 1997
SUBJECT: PROPOSED A P MENT TO CLASSIFIED SALARY ORDINANCE NO.
789 ESTABLI ING THE CLASSIFICATION OF CENTRAL SERVICES
SUPERVISOR
ADMINISTRATION RECOMMENDATION:
Adopt the Ordinance amendment on second reading.
BACKGROUND:
The first reading of this Ordinance took place on April 2, 1997.
As part of a City-wide reorganization, personnel assigned to Central Services began to
administratively report to the City Clerk on October 1, 1996.
ANALYSIS:
Establishing the position of Central Services Supervisor would provide for an appropriate title and
salary range for the position responsible for supervising and coordinating the activities of the City's
Central Services unit including printing/duplicating processes, mail distribution, internal charge -
back, and transportation pool. The position of Central Services Supervisor reports directly to the
City Clerk and has a staff of four clerical and technical employees.
The starting salary for the new Central Services Supervisor position will be $31,229 annually. It will
replace the Central Services Division Director position which started at a salary of $43,537 annually.
CONCLUSION:
It is recommended that this amendment to Ordinance No. 789 be adopted.
