MUNICIPAL ELECTION TO BE HELD ON THE 6TH DAY OF
NOVEMBER, 1973 , FOR THE PURPOSE OF SUBMITTING
TO THE QUALIFIED VOTERS OF THE CITY OF .MIAMI
BEACH, FLORIDA, FOR THEIR APPROVAL OR DISAPPROVAL,
A RESOLUTION PASSED AND ADOPTED BY THE CITY
COUNCIL ON THE 19TH DAY OF SEPTEMBER, 1973 , AND
ENTITLED: "A RESOLUTION GRANTING TO MALL
TRANSPORT , INC. , A FLORIDA CORPORATION, AND TO
ITS SUCCESSORS AND ASSIGNS , THE RIGHT TO USE
THAT PORTION OF LINCOLN ROAD LYING WEST OF THE
WESTERLY LINE OF WASHINGTON AVENUE TO THE EASTERLY
LINE OF ALTON ROAD, OTHERWISE KNOWN AS THE
LINCOLN ROAD MALL, AND THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A
ROUTE NORTHERLY FROM THE LINCOLN ROAD MALL
LOOPING THROUGH THE CIVIC AND CONVENTION CENTER
(CONVENTION CENTER, CITY HALL, AUDITORIUM,
PUBLIC SAFETY BUILDING, ETC. ) TO MOVE PASSENGERS
BETWEEN THE AREA AND THE VARIOUS FACILITIES AND
PARKING AREAS OF THE CIVIC CENTER COMPLEX AND
THE LINCOLN ROAD MALL, IN THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH,
AND ITS SUCCESSORS FOR AND DURING A PERIOD OF
EIGHT (8) YEARS , FOR THE PURPOSE OF ESTABLISHING,
OPERATING AND MAINTAINING A VEHICULAR TRANSPORTATION
SYSTEM FOR TRANSPORTING PASSENGERS FOR COMPENSATION,
IN CONFORMITY WITH AND SUBJECT TO ALL PROVISIONS ,
TERMS AND CONDITIONS HEREIN RECITED. "
WHEREAS , the City Council of the City of Miami Beach,
Florida, at a regular meeting duly called and held according to
law, on the 19th day of September, 1973, adopted Resolution
No . 73-14128 , entitled:
"A RESOLUTION GRANTING TO MALL TRANSPORT, INC. ,
A FLORIDA CORPORATION, AND TO ITS SUCCESSORS
AND ASSIGNS , THE RIGHT TO USE THAT PORTION OF
LINCOLN ROAD LYING WEST OF THE WESTERLY LINE
OF WASHINGTON AVENUE TO THE EASTERLY LINE OF
ALTON ROAD, OTHERWISE KNOWN AS THE LINCOLN ROAD
MALL, AND THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A ROUTE
NORTHERLY FROM THE LINCOLN ROAD MALL LOOPING THROUGH
THE CIVIC AND CONVENTION CENTER (CONVENTION CENTER,
CITY HALL, AUDITORIUM, PUBLIC SAFETY BUILDING,
ETC. ) TO MOVE PASSENGERS BETWEEN THE MALL AREA AND
THE VARIOUS FACILITIES AND PARKING AREAS OF THE
CIVIC CENTER COMPLEX AND THE LINCOLN ROAD MALL, IN
THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, AND ITS SUCCESSORS FOR
AND DURING A PERIOD OF EIGHT (8) YEARS , FOR THE
PURPOSE OF ESTABLISHING, OPERATING AND MAINTAINING A
VEHICULAR TRANSPORTATION SYSTEM FOR TRANSPORTING
PASSENGERS FOR COMPENSATION, IN CONFORMITY WITH
AND SUBJECT TO ALL PROVISIONS , TERMS AND CONDITIONS
HEREIN RECITED. "
and
WHEREAS , under the provisions of Section 26 of the
Charter of the City of Miami Beach, Florida, said Resolution shall
not become a law until the same has been approved by a majority
of the qualified voters of the City of Miami Beach, Florida,
voting thereon at an election held for such purpose, and

WHEREAS , the City Council has determined that said
Resolution shall be in force after its approval by a majority of
the qualified voters of the City of Miami Beach, Florida, voting
at a special election held therefor, and upon the filing of
acceptance thereof by said Company, the effective date of said
Resolution, however, to be not less than forty (40) days after
the final passage thereof by the City Council;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1. That a special municipal election is hereby called and
directed to be held in the City of Miami Beach, Florida,
from 7 : 00 o 'clock a.m. until 7 : 00 o ' clock p.m. , Eastern Standard
Time, on November 6 , 1973 , for the purpose of submitting to the
qualified voters of the City of Miami Beach, Florida, for approval
or disapproval, Resolution No. 73-14128, entitled as aforesaid,
and passed and adopted by the City Council on the 19th day of
September, 1973 .
SECTION 2. That said special municipal election shall be held at
the following polling places in precincts designated,
to wit:

SECTION 3 . The 5ade County Supervisor of Elections shall open the
Registration Books of said City for the purpose of
registering any person qualified to vote in said election, at
the South Shore Community Center, 833 - 6th Street, Miami Beach,
Florida, beginning September 24th through October 6th, 1973,
Monday through Friday, 10:00 a.m. until 6 : 00 p.m. , and Dade
County Supervisor of Elections Office, 1351 N. W. 12th Street,
Miami, Florida, from 8 : 00 a.m. until 9 : 00 p.m. , Mondays through
Fridays, and from 8 : 30 a.m. until 5 : 00 p.m. on Saturdays, up to
and including October 6 , 1973.
SECTION 4 . That the official ballot to be used at said special
municipal election shall be in full compliance with
the laws of the State of Florida with respect to absentee ballots
and to the use of mechanical voting machines, and shall be
substantially in the following form, to wit:

SECTION 5. That the City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed
to publish in a daily newspaper of general circulation
published in the City of Miami Beach, Florida, once a week for a
period of four (4) consecutive weeks next preceding:;said special
election, a notice of said special municipal election in sub-
stantially the following form:
"NOTICE OF SPECIAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION, CITY OF
MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, TO BE HELD IN SAID CITY

Said Resolution, and the terms and conditions of
said franchise are on file in the office of the
City Clerk for inspection and examination by
the public.
All electors shall vote at the Polling Places in
the voting precincts in which the Dade County
Registration Books show that said electors reside.
The Dade County Supervisor of Elections shall open
the Registration Books of said City for the purpose
of registering any person qualified to vote in
said election, at the South Shore Community Center,
833 - 6th Street, Miami Beach, Florida, beginning
September 24th through October 6th, 1973, Monday
through Friday, 10 :00 a.m. until 6 : 00 p.m. , and
Dade County Supervisor of Elections Office, 1351
