New York City.
Dear Clem:
We have just completed the legal papers
by which we borrow 6300,000. on the polo fields
for two years, in lieu of rent for the fields, and
this .oney is without interest.
With the sale of the Oolf Course which
we cannot colleot on until July but we have the
money in view) and our other bond isoues on the
Flamin:J;o and the Nautilus, we will be entirely out
of the banks. and entirely out of debt within the
next sixty days. . I am going to rush through thic
balance I owe you either tomorrow or honday.
I had a talk vitha hr. Hamuons yesterday
regarding some of the bonds which you are negotiat-
ing with him and I did. all I could to help the sale.
I want you to know, Clem, how muoh I ap-
preciate your help, and attitude. In all my banking
experience Gut it has been quite limited),I have
found you head and shoulders above any other banker'
I have come in oontact with, bar none.
I won't have any spare -cash, but I have
bther asset a that you might be able to use and I
want you to feel that I will consider it a favor if
you will -call on me for something. After we have
cleaned up the negotiations and paid the next inter-
est on the bonds and completed our deal With LI?. -
Regan (which looks like it will be completed by the
time you receive thio letter) then it seems to me
the hontauk bonds should be -much more stable than
at present, and it Might be you could use a half
million or a million of my stock as collateral.
If oo, I want you to know you can have it, and you
oan write your own ticket as to how you have it.
