OFFICE OF THE CITY MANAGER
NO. LTC# 107.2018 LETTER TO COMMISSION
T0: Mayor Dan Gelber and Members of t e City Com fission
FROM: Jimmy L. Morales, City Manager
DATE: February 27, 2018 7
SUBJECT: Item Withdrawn — Proposed Miam Beach Pop Festival
The purpose of this Letter to Commission (LTC) is to update the Mayor and Commission on the
proposed Miami Beach Pop Festival.
Prior direction from the Neighborhoods and Community Affairs Committee was to conduct
community outreach sessions and then return to the full Commission to report on this item. In
the interim, City staff has serious concerns that this proposed event would not be suitable for
the time or location proposed, and would pose serious challenges in regards to staffing and
securing the event. Furthermore, the community has expressed concerns around various
aspects of the proposed event, including timing, location and sanitation plans, among other
items.
As of this morning, the producers of the proposed Miami Beach Pop Festival have withdrawn
the proposed item until further notice.
The email from the producers is attached herein.
Please contact me should you have any questions.
