Greenwald Industries currently supplies the City of Miami Beach with parking meter smart cards which cannot be replicated by another vendor. Smart card systems are designed to use specific key codes which are unique to each manufacturer and customer. These codes cannot be duplicated. This process ensures a higher level of security to our customers so that clone cards can't be created and used to cheat the system. If the City of Miami wanted to source another vendor, all parking meters in circulation, and all new locations would have to be retrofitted to accept other suppliers key codes. In addition, since suppliers use different software, cards, and reload systems it would require the City of Miami to run duplicate systems for all parking meter applications. I hope this helps in recognizing Greenwald as your "sole source supplier" for smart card and systems. Please or email if you have any questions, or need further infonnation.
