The Administration and the Parks & Recreation Department cordially invites you to the
Grand Opening/ Ribbon Cutting Celebration ofthe new Flamingo Park Pool. This will take
place on Tuesday, July 9,2002 at 6:00 p.m. at 11th Street and Jefferson Avenue. Attached,
please find the invitation to this exciting occasion. This new state ofthe art aquatics facility
features an interactive/play pool with water toys, an 8 lane lap pool, changing /Iocker
rooms, a concession stand and more!
Please dress in shorts or other pool attire so you can get your feet wet (wade out to the
water toy in 18" of water) and cut the ribbon wrapping our new multi-spray water
playground.
Please R.S.v.P. to the Parks and Recreation Department, attention Carlos Da Cruz at
(305) 673-7730. Please join us in officially open this beautiful new facility to our
community!

GRAND OPENING 1 RIBBON CUTTING

I. Welcome, brief project overview and introduction Project Architects,
Contractor and City Project Staff - City Manager
II. Introductions and comments: - City Manager
Mayor and City Commissioners
Safe Neighborhood Bond Oversight Committee Members
Parks and Recreation Board Members
Assistant City Managers
III. Mayor and Commissioners Comments
IV. City Manager, Mayor and Commissioners move to water toy to cut the
ribbon and Return back to pool deck.
V. Count down and the water toys are turned on.
VI. Refreshments are served, pools open for swimming.
(Note: Weather permitting the presentations and speeches could be done
from the deck of the play toy.)
