Gonzalez, City Manager City of Miami Beach 1700 Convention Center Drive Miami Beach, FL 33139 Re: Road Impact Fees - District 8 DearMr.A~ This iri~~sponse to your letter dated March 20, 2002 regarding District 8 Road Impact Fee (RIF) collections to date, planned projects and potential refunds forecast. The County's general ledger shows that Miami-Dade County has collected and expended to date $9.2 million and $3.2 million respectively, for this district. The Road Impact Fee Ordinance establishes a six (6) year time limit for the utilization of these funds for fees collected to date. To avoid potential refunds, $952,374 must be expended between March 31, 2003 and March 31, 2004 to compliment the $3.2 million expended to date. The Public Works Department will issue work orders during the summer for traffic signals in District 8 totaling $1.358 million. The remaining balance is programmed as shown in the attached summary of the Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) report. Also, attached you will find a copy of Ordinance No. 00-76, as amended, which establishes the hierarchy for utilizing RIF funds for projects within the benefit district.
