Liliam: I am not sure which reso you have a question on since the title and the body of the e-mail do not
match. Therefore, I am responding to both your original questions on each item.
I have attached a response from John de Pazos to you on the Reso noted below (which appears below your
e-mail to me). The Reso you refer to in your e-mail (99-23161) has to do with placing Pay Telephones in the
public ROW, which is managed by Public Works. As a result, I would refer you to Fred Beckmann to close the
loop on this item, which appears to be the issuance of an RFP on the placement of Pay Telephones in the
ROW that was amended on the floor of the Commission Chambers.
If you are referring to the other Reso mentioned within the title of your e-mail (2001-24280), concerning the
Botanical Gardens, then I concur with John's statement to you. We do not have an executed contract with
Curtis and Rodgers and one does not appear to be forthcoming. I believe the intent of the designer, as well as
the intent of the City, is to not execute an agreement for these services. I believe we will be seeking the
authority to issue an RFP for a designer for the Botanical Garden in the near future.
