A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, SETTING A FIRST READING PUBLIC HEARING TO
CONSIDER A PROPOSED AMENDMENT TO THE FUTURE LAND USE MAP OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI BEACH COMPREHENSIVE PLAN CONSISTING OF:
An Ordinance of the Mayor and City Commission of the City of Miami Beach, Florida,
Amending the Future Land Use Map of the City of Miami Beach Comprehensive Plan for
the Area Bounded by the Atlantic Ocean on the East, 77th Street on the North, Collins
Avenue on the East, and 76th Street on the South, Excluding lot 6, block 10 of CORRECTED
PLAT OF ALTOS DEL MAR NO.1 [31-40], from the Current Future Land Use Category
RS Single Family Residential, to the Proposed Future Land Use Category ROS Recreation
and Open Space; Directing Transmittals of this Ordinance and All Applicable Documents
to Affected Agencies; Providing for Repealer, Severability, Inclusion in the Comprehensive
Plan and an Effective Date.
WHEREAS, the Planning Board considered the ordinance at its May 25, 1999 meeting, and
reviewed the amendment; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 118-164 of the Code of the City of Miami Beach, Florida, in
cases in which the actual list of permitted, conditional or prohibited uses within a zoning category, or a
change to the actual zoning map designation for a parcel or parcels of land is proposed , the City
Commission shall provide for public notice and hearings by holding two advertised public hearings on the
proposed ordinance, at least one hearing held after 5 :00 p.m. on a weekday; and'
WHEREAS, as this required public hearing requires 30 day mailed notice, to enable the City
Commission to hear the proposed amendment in a timely manner on first reading at its July 20, 1999
meeting, the Administration is requesting that the public hearing be set at this time;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that a first reading public hearing
to consider aproposed amendment to the Future Land Use Plan of the City of Miami Beach
Comprehensive Plan redesignating the property known as the eleven contiguous lots of the Altos Del Mar
from the existing future land use category RS Single Family to the ROS Recreation and Open Space future
land use category, is hereby scheduled on Wednesday, July 20, 1999 at 5 :15 p.m. in the City Commission
Chambers at 1700 Convention Center Drive, Miami Beach, Florida, and the City Clerk is hereby
authorized and directed to publish and distribute the appropriate public notice of said public hearing at
which time all interested parties will be heard.

RECOMMENDATION
The Administration recommends that the City Commission set the required first reading public
hearing for 5: 15 P.M. on July 20, 1999 for this proposed amendment to the Future Land Use Plan
of the City of Miami Beach Comprehensive Plan redesignating the property known as the eleven
contiguous lots of the Altos Del Mar from the existing future land use category RS Single Family
to the ROS Recreation and Open Space future land use category.
BACKGROUND
On May 25, 1999 the Planning Board held a public hearing, and reviewed a proposed amendment
of the Future Land Use Map of the City of Miami Beach Comprehensive Plan, redesignating the
property known as the eleven contiguous lots of the Altos Del Mar from the existing future land
use category RS Single Family to the ROS Recreation and Open Space future land use category.
As the required public hearing on this matter requires a 30 day mailed notice, to enable the City
Commission to hear the proposed amendment in a timely manner on fIrst reading at its July 20,
1999 meeting, the Administration is requesting that the public hearing be set at this time.
