Locker Room Repairs at Flamingo Pool
The purpose of this LTC is to advise of the proposed repairs to the men's and women's
locker rooms at the recently completed Flamingo Pool project.
On June 14, 2002, the Flamingo Pool project was issued a Certificate of Occupancy by
the City's Building Department. A substantial completion certificate was subsequently
issued to the contractor, Regosa Engineering, Inc. on June 20, 2002, by the project
architect, Corradino Group. As part of the substantial completion punch list, deficiencies
were noted in the bathroom floors of both the men's and women's locker rooms.
Specifically, the drains that were installed were placed at an improper elevation causing
the bathroom floors to drain improperly. As part of the punch-list issued, the contractor
has agreed to come back at a later date to repair these deficiencies along with other
items identified during the substantial completion phase.
Because of the City's desire to open this facility for use by our residents and the Parks
& Recreation summer camp program that began in late June, the City determined that it
was more beneficial to maintain the pool facility open for the summer and resume with
the needed repairs at the completion of the summer program.
On September 23, 2002, the contractor commenced with the needed repairs to both
locker rooms. It is anticipated that the pool facilities will need to be closed for
approximately one week for these repairs.
