A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING APPLICATION AND
ACCEPTANCE FEES FROM ARTISTS WHO SEEK TO
DISPLAY THEIR ART WORK AT THE 1975 FESTIVAL
OF ARTS ; ESTABLISHING ADMISSION FEES FOR
CERTAIN PROGRAMS ; ESTABLISHING AMOUNTS OF
PRIZE MONEY TO ARTISTS; PERMITTING THE FINE
ARTS BOARD TO SELECT AND INVITE THREE (3)
NATIONALLY KNOWN EXPERTS TO ACT AS JUDGES
AT THE 1975 FESTIVAL OF THE ARTS.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH,
FLORIDA:
That the Music and Fine Arts Board of the City of Miami
Beach be and it is hereby authorized to collect the following fees
from artists seeking to display their art work at the 1975 Festival
of Art:
1. A Five ($5. 00) Dollar non-refundable
application fee from all artists sub-
mitting applications to the selection
committee.
2. A Fifteen ($15. 00) Dollar non-refundable
acceptance fee from each artist who has
been chosen to display his art work.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Music and Fine Arts
Board is hereby authorized to collect an admission fee of One
($1. 00) Dollar or less per person for certain programs in the
performing arts section of the Festival.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Music and Fine Arts
Board be and it is hereby authorized to pay the following amounts
as prize money to artists based upon the judgment of an independent
panel of three (3) judges , each of whom is a nationally known
expert in art:
a. One Thousand ($1, 000) Dollar purchase award.
The most outstanding work of art as chosen by
the aforesaid independent panel of judges shall
be purchased by the City of Miami Beach.
b. Two Hundred Fifty ($250) Dollars for each best
art award in category A - Painting, category B
- graphics and drawings, and category C - sculpture.
c. One Hundred ($100) Dollars for each best art award
in category D - crafts and category E - photography.
d. Fifty ($50) Dollars for the best artists display.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Music and Fine Arts
Board of the City of Miami Beach be and it is hereby authorized
to select and invite three (3) nationally prominent art experts
to Miami Beach to judge art work presented in the 1975 Festival
of the Arts and pay the expenses incurred by the three (3) judges
involving their participation in the 1975 Festival of the Arts.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that all monies collected pur-
suant to this resolution shall be deposited with the City Cashier
for proper deposit in the appropriate account. All monies re-
quired by the Music and Fine Arts Board to pay the expenditures
permitted by this resolution shall be requisitioned from the City
Manager through appropriate procedure. No money shall be expended
by the Music and Fine Arts Board as set forth herein-above except
with the express approval of the City Manager.
