RESOLUTION NO. 74-14486
A RESOLUTION CREATING THE AD HOC ECONOMIC
ADVISORY COMMITTEE OF THE CITY OF MIAMI
BEACH AND SETTING FORTH THE DUTIES OF SAME.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH,
FLORIDA:
SECTION 1. That the Ad Hoc Economic Advisory Committee of the City
of Miami Beach be and the same is hereby created.
Said Committee shall be composed of seven (7) duly qualified and
registered voters of the City, qualified to perform and execute
the duties and responsibilities conferred upon them hereby.
Each Councilman shall submit the name of one (1) qualified person
to the Mayor of the City for his consideration. Members should
be representatives of the tourist industry, hotel industry,
convention industry, the financial community, and business men.
Appointments shall be made by the Mayor and the City Manager,
and then shall be ratified and confirmed by the City Council.
1 SECTION 2 . That the Committee shall elect one of its members
as Chairman, who shall serve at the will of the
members . All members of the Committee shall serve without pay,
but they shall be entitled to be reimbursed by the City for
their actual expenses.
SECTION 3 . It shall be the duty of the Ad Hoc Economic Advisory
Committee to study all facets of business and make
recommendations to the City Council as to ways and means of
improving the economic conditions in the City of Miami Beach.

SECTION 4 . Said recommendations of the said Committee as
submitted to the City Council shall be recommendatory
and advisory only, and shall be supplied to the City Council from
time to time as may be determined by the said Committee or as
requested by the City Council.
SECTION 5. The Committee shall meet and organize at the earliest
possible time immediately following its formulation.
Its meetings shall be held at such times and places as shall be
fixed and determined by it. The City Manager is hereby directed
and authorized to furnish, supply and make available to the
Committee suitable and proper accommodations for the transaction
of the business of said Committee. The Committee shall submit
to the City Council and to the City Manager interim reports as to
the performance of its duties and responsibilities as hereinabove
delineated.
