RECENT NOTEWORTHY ARRESTS

This Letter to Commission is to provide information on several recent noteworthy arrests in
the Middle and North Districts which removed several prolific criminals from our streets.
During the month of October several burglaries occurred on La Gorce Island, Pinetree
Ddve Circle, Alton Road, and North Bay Road. After an intense investigation, detectives
were able to identify similar methods of operations and several pdme suspects. On
October 18, 2002, one of the subjects was arrested for two separate burglaries at 4444
and 4446 Alton Road. He is also the key suspect in the burglaries on La Gorce Island, La
Gome Drive and Pinetree Ddve. An additional suspect has been positively identified in
these burglaries and is actively being sought by both the Miami Beach Police Department
and the Miami Shores Police Department for similar crimes in their city.
Three outstanding arrests also occurred on October 29, 2002. In one case, a subject was
arrested for an armed occupied burglary at 1650 Bay Ddve. This suspect confessed to this
crime and also had 7 burglary and 1 grand theft auto warrants outstanding against him. In
the second case, two subjects were arrested for breaking int? the construction trailer atthe
North Shore Park Construction Site in the 500 block of 72'"~ Street.
The Officers and Detectives involved in these arrests are to be commended for their
teamwork, dedication, and perseverance in solving these crimes.
