1674-66 Carl Fisher V.F. MIAMI BEACH - BIOGRAPHY
c. 1
Ida Graham Fisher
The Ida M. Fisher School in Miami Beach, Florida, was named for Carl
Graham Fisher's Mother. Through an error it was called Ida M. Fisher instead
of Ida G. Fisher.
Not many facts are known about Ida Graham Fisher, whose life was a quiet
one, spent principally in bringing up her family of three boys. She was born in
Martinsville, Indiana into a family originally from Virginia. The date is not
known. She married Albert Fisher. After they were divorced, she devoted her
life to bringing up their three sons. (Mr. and Mrs. Fisher came together later
in life, but it is not certain whether they ever remarried.)
Carl Graham Fisher started working at an early age. His tremendous ac-
complishments are described in Jane Fisher's book, The Fabulous Hoosier.
The two brothers of Carl Fisher died between the years 1910-1911 .
An enlarged photograph of Ida Fisher was hung in the Ida M. Fisher School,
but its whereabouts are not known at the present time.
