A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING RENEWAL OF LEASE WITH
U.S. POSTAL SERVICE FOR SELF-SERVICE POSTAL UNIT
ON LINCOLN ROAD MALL FOR A FIVE-YEAR PERIOD
BEGINNING MAY 1, 1983.
WHEREAS, the United States Postal Servicehas requested the City of Miami
Beach to lease to said United States Postal Service certain agreed upon space
located in the 900 block on the Lincoln Road Mall for an additional period of
.five-years beginning May 1, 1983, and ending April 30, 1988 for use as a
Self-service Postal Unit, upon certain conditions as set forth in the proposed
lease agreement, the terms of which are familiar to the City Commission, and
WHEREAS, said proposed lease provides for the termination of said
agreement by the United States Postal Service at any time upon 30 days' written
notice; and by the City of Miami Beach upon giving six months' written notice,
and
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Miami Beach, Florida, deems
it to be in the best interest of the City of Miami Beach and its inhabitants
that said lease agreement be renewed and entered into,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI
BEACH, FLORIDA, that the Mayor and the City Clerk be and they are hereby authorized
and directed to executed the renewal agreement in the name of and on behalf of
the City of Miami Beach, Florida.
PASSED and ADOPTED this 18th day of August, 1982.

SUBJECT: Self-service Postal Unit - Lincoln Road Mall
The Self-service Postal Unit has been on the Lincoln Road Mall since 1968.
The current lease with the U. S. Postal Service expires on April 30, 1983.
A request has been received from the United States Postal Service Field Real
Estate and Buildings office, which has jurisdiction over postal leases, for
renewal of the existing lease for an additional five year period beginning
May 1, 1983.
The Public Properties Director has examined the lease and has no objection
to renewal thereof.
ADMINISTRATION
RECOMMENDATION: That the resolution attached be adopted authorizing the
execution of the renewal of the lease for an additional
five-year period beginning May 1, 1983 and ending
April 30, 1988.
