Resolution 3949 RESOLUTION NO. 3949
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Miami
Beach, Florida, that we hereby approve and endorse the proposed
Act which is entitled as follows:
"AN ACT AFFECTING THE GOVERNMENT OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI BEACH AND EXEMPTING THE CITY OF MIAMI
BEACH FROM THE PROVISIONS OF CHAPTER 16965,
ACTS OF 1935, LAWS OF FLORIDA, ENTITLED, "AN
ACT PROVIDING WAYS AND MEANS FOR READJUSTING,
REFUNDING AND LIQUIDATING THE INDEBTEDNESS OF
ANY FINANCIALLY EMBARRASSED POLITICAL SUBDIVI-
SION AND TAXING DISTRICT IN DEFAULT; FOR A
JUDICIAL PROCEEDING TO CARRY OUT SUCH PURPOSE;
FOR THE CONFIRMATION AND VALIDATION OF REFUND-
ING BONDS ISSUED BY ANY SUCH TAXING DISTRICT;
FOR THE ASSESSMENT AND LEVY OF TAXES TO PAY
PRINCIPAL AND INTEREST OF SUCH REFUNDING BONDS;
FOR THE ASSESSMENT AND LEVY OF TAXES TO PAY
UNREFUNDED BONDS OR OTHER INDEBTEDNESS OF SUCH
POLITICAL SUBDIVISION OR TAXING DISTRICT; AND
FOR OTHER PURPOSES GERMANE THERETO. " "
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that copies of said proposed Act,
together with a certified copy of this Resolution, be sent to
each of the following: Senator Ernest R. Graham, Representa-
tives George E. Holt, Ernest Overstreet and John J. Lindsey,
and that they each be respectfully requested to see that a Bill,
substantially in accordance with the said copy, be introduced
and passed during the 1937 session of the Florida State Legisla-
li ture.
