Resolution 4597 RESOLUTION NO. 4597 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, MAKING A TAX LEVY FOR THE TAX YEAR 1939, AND FIXING THE MILLA GE ON REAL AND PERSONAL PROPERTY IN SAID CITY. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA: SECTION 1. That there be, and the same is hereby levied, a tax for the year, A. D. , 1939, on all real and personal property located within the corporate limits of the City of Miami Beach, Florida, as follows : (A) For the purpose of carrying on the Government or Adminis- tration and Finance Department of said City and to provide funds for the support and maintenance of the different City De- partments, as follows : Fire ; Police; Beach Patrol, Engineering; Streets and Bridges ; Sewer; Parks & Docks; Water; Building In- spection; Maintenance Public Buildings; Health and Welfare; Waste Collection and Disposal; Recreation; Library and Art Center; Golf Course; Lighting City ; Telephone Exchange and Miscellaneous ; and a reserve for tax discounts and abatements and for uncollected taxes ; Nineteen ( 19) Mills on the dollar of the taxable cash value of all of said property in said City, with the exception of such properties as have been allowed a Homestead Exemption, pursuant to the provisions of an Act known as "Senate Bill 4123" , adopted by the State Legislature in 1935, and as later amended. (B) For Publicity and Advertising purposes, and a reserve for tax discounts and abatements, Two Mills ( 2) on the dollar of the taxable cash value of all of said property in said City , with the exception of such properties as have been allowed a Homestead Exemption, as explained above, One ( 1) Mill of which was authorized by a majority vote of freeholders at an election held for this purpose on June 14th, 1938 . (C) For the purpose of paying principal and interest due on all outstanding bonds of said City that were issued prior to the passage of the Homestead Exemption Act , and for a reserve for tax discounts and abatements and for uncollected taxes, Four ( 4) Mills on the dollar of the taxable cash value of all property in said City. (D) For the purpose of paying principal and interest due on all outstanding bonds of said City that were issued since the passage of the Homestead Exemption Act, and for a reserve for tax discounts and abatements and for uncollected taxes, Two ( 2) Mills on the dollar of the taxable cash value of all of said prop- erty in said City with the exception of such properties as have been allowed a Homestead Exemption, as explained above. SECTION 2. That a certified copy of this resolution be delivered to the following officers of the City of Miami Beach, Florida, namely: City Tax Assessor, City Manager, and City Auditor.
