A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
TT' CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA.
WHE k;AS, due largely to the efforts and initiative of
County Commissioner P. P. Lowry, the United }tatee Coast Guard
were given permission by Congress to exchange the present Coast
Guard property situated between 72nd and. 73rd Streets, in Miami
Beach, commonly known as "Coast Guard House of Refuge Property"
for a more suitable site for a master Coast Guard Station, and
WHEREAS, by reason of this authority, the purchase of this
"Coast Guard House of Refuge Property" , for a public park, was
made possible, for a price of 0225,000.00, on terms of 50,000.00
cash and $20,000.00 ,ger year until paidfbr, and
WHEREAS, this body has been informed by County Commissioner
N. P. Lowry that the Board of County Commissioners has included
in their budget for the ensuing year an item of 10,000.00, and
that the budget Board has approved same, to assist the City of
Miami Beach in purchasing this tract, and that it was their in-
tention to include a similar item of . 10,000.00 in their budget
each year for this purpose, until the property is fully paid for.

City of Miami Beach, Florida, that we do hereby, not only for
` ourselves, but also on behalf of the citizens of Miami Beach.,
express our thanks and appreciation to the Board of County com-
missioners and also to the County Bud •,et Board, for their
splendid cooperation making possible the purchase of this much
needed park area.
