A RESOLUTION PROVIDING FOR SAFEGUARDING CIVIL SERF-
VICE RIGHTS OF CITY EMPLOYEES WHO MAY BE INDUCTED
INTO THE MILITARY SERVICE OF THE UNITED STATES
GOVERNMENT
WHEREAS, an emergency exists wherein from time to time City
employees may render military service to their Country,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA:
Section 1. That whenever a City employee of the City of
Miami Beach, Florida, shall be duly inducted into the military
service of the United States Government that he shall upon
application to the Civil Service Board of the City of Miami
Beach, be given a leave of absence without pay from the service
of the City of Miami Beach, and no loss of Civil Service rights
shall operate against him as a result thereof, providing, howiver,
he shall offer himself or herself for return to the service of
the City within thirty days after discharge from such military
service unless such time is extended for reasons of health or
physical unfitness after application to and approval of the
Civil Service Board.
