A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE DADE COUNTY
SENATOR AND REBRESEN TATIVES TO USE THEIR BEST
EFFORTS TO OBTAIN PASSAGE OF A CERTAIN BILL
HEREINAFTER DESCRIBED IN THIS RESOLUTION.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA:
That Senator Ernest Graham and Representatives George E. Holt,
H. E. Overstreet and Marshall Wiseheart, be and they are hereby
respectfully requested to use their best efforts to obtain passage
by the Legislature of the State of rlorida of the following bill, to-
wit:

AN ACT AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
IN COUNTIES OF YORE THAN TWO HUNDRED SIXTY SEVEN
THOUSAND POPULATION TO PERMIT MUNICIPALITIES IN SUCH
COUNTIES TO USE VOTING MACHINES IN CONDUCTING MUNICI-
PAL "ELECTIONS WITHOUT ANY CHARGE OR RENTAL FEE OTHER
THAN THE NECESSARY EXPENSE OF TRANSPORTATION AND
MECHANICS REQUIRED IN THE OPERATION OF SUCH MACHINES.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF FLORIDA:
SECTION 1. The Board of County Commissioners of any County in this
State having a population of more than Two Hundred Sixty
Seven Thousand, according to the last or any future Federal or State
census, and in which counties voting machines have been approved and
adopted, be and they are hereby authorized, directed and required to
permit municipalities in said counties to use the said voting machines
in the conduct of their municipal elections without any ahaxtge or
rental fee other than the necessary expenses of transportation and
mechanics required in the operation of the said machines.
SECTION 2. This Act shall take effect immediately upon its becoming
a lalti.
