Jeff Finch and Gerry Sanchez stand before the parts of the Dutch Reformed Church
(Newburgh) they are restoring. Finch is a restorer with the National Park Service, which
is rebuilding a"first window" to look as it did in the I860s. Sanchez is donating the
services of his company, Polonia,to restore a"first column" (behind the scaffolding)to
match the original 1835 designs of A. J. Davis. The work marks the first restoration of
the landmark building's decorative elements since it was vacated in 1967.
