4HEREAS, it appears to the best interest of the person-
nel of the various Army Branches and to the best interest of the
citizens of Miami Beach to firmly restrict, in certain districts,
the issuance of licenses for ni7ht clubs, cabarets and for the
sale of beer and wine; and
WiiEREAS; although Forty-first Street, in said City,
contains a small business district, it also contains two schools,
two churches, and many residences , and is predominantly a resi-
dential district,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Miami Beach, Florida, that for the duration of the
War, applications for additional night club or cabaret licenses
for any location on Forty-first Street will be denied and appli-
cations for beer and wine licenses will be denied to new applicants
for any location on Forty-first Street, even though there is out-
standing, in the name of a licensee other than the applicant, a
license for said location which is automatically renewable under
the terms of the ordinances of the City of Miami Beach.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk be and he
is hereby authorized and directed to publish a copy of this reso-
lution one time in each of the following daily newspapers,
Miami Daily News, Miami Daily Herald, Miami Beach Tropics and
the Miami Beach Times.
