Resolution 5643 RESOLUTION NO. 5643
WHE:REAS, the United States of America has heretofore made
to the City of Miami Beach, a'lorida, an offer of a grant of
;>26,500.00 to aid in the making of alterations and additions to
the building located at No. 1 Biscayne Street, Miami Beach, Florida;
and
WHERrAS, the City Council of said City didthereafter accept
said offer and did appropriate the sum of •: 8,000.00 as a portion of
the cost of said Project, known as Project Fla. 8-249; and
4n IAS, when saidoffer was made and accepted, the estimated
cost of said alterations and additions was 04,500.00; and
4_.ER AS, the cost of construction has greatly increased and
the lowest bid received by the City for said alterations and addi-
tions was in the amount of v40,500.00; and
wYi _SAS, the contract has been awarded to the lowest bidder in
said amount ; and
rl ,_iAS, in order to complete sa?d Project, work and equipment
in addition to chat covered by said contract will be required,
the cost of which is presently estioated at ;8,500.00, and which
will increase the total cost of said Project to ,;49,000.00; and
41414, 13, an application for a total allotment in the amount of
:; 49,000.00 ( of which ;{12,000.00 is to be supplied by the City) , is
now pending with the Federal 4orks Agency,
NC44, THER.�FOAE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City
of Miami Beach, Florida, that in addition Co the sum of x¢8,000.00
heretofore appropriated for said Project, there be and there hereby is
appropriated the sum of ;;4,000.00 from funds of the City available for
such purpose, and pending the allocation of an additional grant of
p10,500.00 from the United States of America, a guarantee be and is
hereby given, for and on behalf of the City of Miami Beach, that any
amount required to carry out the obligations of said contract :nd to
meet the cost of said additional work and equipment will be hereafter
appropriated and will be forthcoming.
