A RESOLUTION OF THE CHAIRMAN AND MEMBERS OF THE MIAMI
BEACH REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY AUTHORIZING THE CHAIRMAN
AND SECRETARY TO EXECUTE A QUIT CLAIM DEED IN FAVOR OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, TRANSFERRING TITLE TO THE
PROPERTY THAT WILL COMPRISE THE NEW 16TH STREET
BETWEEN WASHINGTON AND COLLINS AVENUES.
WHEREAS, the Miami Beach Redevelopment Agency ("Agency") is the owner of the
property that is proposed to be the new 16th Street between Washington and Collins A venues, which
property is legally described in Exhibit" 1 " to the Quit Claim Deed, which deed is attached hereto
and incorporated herein as Exhibit "A"; and
WHEREAS, the City of Miami Beach has received $2,000,000 in grant monies from the
State of Florida to be used for the acquisition of property for and the development of the new 16th
Street between Washington and Collins Avenues; and
WHEREAS, out of the $2,000,000 in grant funds, $1,000,000 is to be used for property
acquisition; and
WHEREAS, the Agency desires to transfer to the City the property that will be used for the
development of the new 16th Street.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CHAIRMAN AND
MEMBERS OF THE MIAMI BEACH REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY that:
1. The Chairman and Secretary are authorized to execute the Quit Claim Deed attached
hereto and incorporated herein, transferring to the City of Miami Beach the property
to be developed as 16th Street between Washington and Collins Avenues, upon
receipt of $1 ,000,000 from the City.
2. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its passage.

Adopt the attached resolution.
BACKGROUND:
On October 10, 1995, the City of Miami Beach executed an agreement with the State of Florida,
Department of Commerce, Division of Economic Development for a $2,000,000 grant to
undertake the extension of 16th Street between Collins and Washington Avenues. The project
budget calls for $1,000,000 to be used for property acquisition and $1,000,000 for the streetscape
improvements. This important redevelopment activity is essential to relieve existing and
anticipated traffic congestion as a result of new development activity planned and/or underway in
the area.
ANALYSIS
Since the grant was awarded to the City of Miami Beach to undertake the project, and the newly
created extension of 16th Street will also be maintained by the City, the Redevelopment Agency
must deed that portion of property comprising the 16th Street right-of-way between Collins and
Washington Avenues to the City.
The Redevelopment Agency has undertaken the necessary property acquisition for the project, and
execution of the Quit Claim Deed will be subject to receipt of$I,OOO,OOO from the City.

CONCLUSION
It is recommended that the Chairman and Members of the Miami Beach Redevelopment Agency

REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY, a Florida public body corporate and politic, whose post office
address is 1700 Convention Center Drive, Miami Beach, Florida 33139, Grantor, and CITY OF
MIAMI BEACH, a Florida municipal corporation, whose post office address is 1700 Convention
Center Drive, Miami Beach, Florida 33139, Grantee.
WITNESSETH, That said Grantor, for and in consideration of the sum ofTEN AND NOll 00
($10.00) DOLLARS and other good and valuable consideration to said Grantor in hand paid by said
Grantee, the receipt and sufficiency whereof is hereby acknowledged, has granted, bargained and
sold to the said Grantee, and Grantee's successors and assigns forever, the following described lands

Subdivision of Alton Beach" as recorded in Plat Book 2, Page 77 of the Public Records of Dade
County, Florida being more particularly described as follows:
BEGINNING at the Southwest comer of Block 54 of said "Fisher's First Subdivision of Alton
Beach" Plat;
thence North 880 00' 58" East along the South line of said Block 54, a distance of 443.08 feet, to the
Southeast comer of said Block 54;
thence South 070 35' 04" West, a distance of 96.26 feet, to a point of cusp with a tangent curve
concave to the Southwest;
