TO
WILLARD H. WEBB
WHEREAS, the principle source of our revenue is ,from Real
Estate and Personal Property taxes and it is of vital importance
that assessment values of properties be equalized in order to
maintain the cooperation and good will of our taxpayers, and
WHEREAS, Mr. Willard H. Webb, as City Tax Assessor since
1941 has done an outstanding piece of work in evaluating on a
business and scientific basis, all of our properties; measuring
and reappraising all of our buildings so that our current tax
roll now reflects the best example of equalization that has ever
been accomplished in our City, and
WHEREAS, Mr. Webb has now been offered more lucrative employ-
ment and has tendered his resignation as Tax Assessor,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Miami Beach, Florida, that we do hereby reluctantly accept
his resignation, recognizing and acknowledging the splendid work
he has done on our Tax Rolls from year to year making numerous
necessary upward adjustments in assessment values in all parts of
the City without incurring the displeasure of our taxpayers, in
fact, actually further cementing the cordial relations existing
between the administration and our citizens as attested by the
fact that on this occasion of today' s Tax Equalization Hearing
not one taxpayer appeared to complain of the assessment against his
property, and
WE DO FURTHER EXPRESS herewith the high regard and esteem in
which we hold Mr. Webb and we wish for him much success and pros-
perity in all of his future endeavors.
