A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA 'MAKING A
TAX LEFY FOR THE TAX YEAR 1943, AND FIX-
ING THE MILLA'CE ON REAL, AND PET SONAL
PROPERTY IN SAID CITY. .
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL .Or THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH,
FLORIDA:
SECTION 1. That there be, and the same is hereby levied, a tax
for the year, A. D. , 1943, on all real and personal
property located within the corporate limits of the City of
Miami Beach, Florida, as follows :
* (A) For the purpose of carrying on the Government or Administra-
tion and Finance Department of said City and to provide funds
for the support and maintenance of the different City Departments,
as follows : Mayor and Council; Clerk and Collector's Office; Tax
Assessor 's Office; City Manager's Office; Personnel and Pension
Board;. Legal; ' Fire; Police; Beach Patrol; Engineering; Streets and
Bridges; Sower; Parks & Docks; Water; Building Inspection; Main-
tenance Public Buildings; Health & Welfare.; Hospital Operations;
Waste Collection and Disposal; Recreation; Library and Art Center;
Golf Course (Normandy Isle) ; Lighting City; Telephone Exchange;
and Miscellaneous; and a reserve for tax discounts and abate-
ments and for uncollected taxes; Sixteen and one-tenth (16.1)
Mills on the dollar of the taxable cash value of all 6f said
property in said City, with the exception of such properties as
have been allowed a Homestead Exemption, pursuant to the pro-
visions of an Act known as "Senate Bill #123" , adopted by the
State Ligislature in 1935, and as 1^1ar amended.
(B). For Publicity and Advertising purposes, and a reserve for
tax discounts and abatements, Two Mills (2) on the dollar of
the taxable cash value of all of said property in said City with
the exception of such properties as have been allowed a Homestead
Exemption, as explained above.
( C) For the purpose of
p paying principal and interest due on all
outstanding bonds of said City that were issued prior to the
passage of the Homestead Exemption Act, with the exception of cer-
tain bonds being refunded by Resolution No. 5686, passed and
adopted July 21st, 1943 , and for a reserve for tax discounts and
abatements and for uncollected taxes Three and Eight-tenths (3.8)
Mills on the dollar of the taxable cash value of all property in
said City.
(D) For the purpose of paying principal and interest due on all
outstanding bonds of said City that were issued since the
passage of the Homestead Exemption Act, and for a reserve for tax
discounts and abatements and for uncollected taxes, Two and Six-
tenths (2.6) Mills on the dollar of the taxable cash value of all
of said property in said City with the exception of such prop-
erties as have been allowed a Homestead Exemption, as explained
above.
