FISHER, President THE ALTON BEACH REALTY COMPANY OCEAN AND BAY FRONT PROPERTY OFFICE; 11 East 32nd St. , MIAMI AVENUE and New York City, i, Y. LINCOLN ROAD MIAMI BEACH, FLA. May 26, 1920. Address all communications to the Company Hr. Carl G. Fisher, Indianapolis, Indiana. id • iy dear Mr. Fisher; Although I have not been very communicative since leaving Miami Beach I can assure you I have been thinking and talking the Flamm go a good deal. About the first thing I did after my arrival in town was to spend the better part of two days working ti out all the details for our kitchen layout with the kitchen equip- ment people and have sent to Floyd complete blue prints showing all electric, steam and water connections for same. The kitchen equipment is all to be shilpped in July or August so it will be sure to be there in ample time. , • 1 I have already spent quite a bit of time at \7anamaker' s and shall probably put in quite a lot of 'time• t:_ere in connection with their work and t .i ng all tht odds and ends ordered. Of course I saw ;Tr. Fowler when he was in town, and met Lir. Lund- berg at VTananaker' s today and took up the Lincoln things with him, he is coming in again next week when we expect to get his stuff cleaned up. I shall send you a complete list of his re%- quirements with the cost of same. • While at Black, Starr and Frost' s, the jewlers who have taken one of the shops I interested Mr. Clifford Black in one of the bungalows for next winter and believe he will take one. I don't believe it was definately decided whit, rental rae vould get for the bungalows. It is my understanding that they will cost x7500. to build and I have lig ited p`raiapathor's 6euerL: 'J1• to 32000, :(711 for ciO 1 mil .11 ___. Mr. Fuerte 's sent to our decorator a few days ago a sketch of his idea for the mural and fireplace treatment. I am very en- . thusiastic about the murals over the fireplaces but I will be frank and say that I do not like the idea of having the flamingo .., .3 - plaster casts at the sides of the fireplaces or the flamingo and- . the irons. It seems to me that they detract from the central and important thing and that is the mural itself. The plaster casts and the andirons sort of draw ones eyes down to them when I think we really want the eyes focussed on the mural J4self. I wrote to Fuertes asking him what he thought of leaving out the plaster casts , at the sides and the flamingo andirons but have not heard from him yet. Mr. Beck called in to see me this morning and we cleaned up our order for stationery, menu cards , trunk labels, etc. Beck asked me to send, him the sketch which Fuertes had, made and saidhe s he might bring it out to show you. I don't think 6kti. is ( • drawn to scale as it was my understanding that the fireplaces were i to be higher than Fuertes has shown them. I would hate to express ; ' ] ) in writing what I think the andirons ;.00k like. I have seen some --,, of Wyet:hes murals and they are going to be great, I also believe Fuerte's murals will be 0. K. bui-, I do want to go on record a8 not favoring the flamingo andirons or plaster pilasters. Have been keeping the Casino proposition in mind, and have saes two men who were possible candldates to be in charge of the place but am afraid they are not either of them just the right men for the place, I am expecting to see a man before long who has beet in Bermuda all winter and believe he is a much more likely prospecu Will advise you as soon as I get a line on someone whom I feel is the right man. Here 's hoping the races will be the best ever and with very kind, regards in which Mrs. Krom joins me, , Cordially, j AW-7/Ii' i 1 , , 4 A i 1 40 • • Ma.y 29th, 3.920. Mr. C.
