Resolution 5707 RESOLUTION NO. 5707 WHEREAS, it has been learned that on June 4th, 1943, the Town of Miami Springs passed a resolution requesting the Naming Board of the Army Air Forces to change the name of the "36th Street Airport" located in said Town, to "Curtiss Field"; and WHEREAS, Glenn H. Curtiss was a pioneer in aviation, a prominent factor in the development of aviation, and the founder of the Town of Miami Springs, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Miami Beach, Florida, that the City of Miami Beach join in the request to the Naming Board of the Army Air Forces and that said City of Miami Beach strongly urge that said request be granted. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Clerk be and he is hereby directed to forward a certified copy of this Resolution to the City Clerk of the Town of Miami Springs in order that it may be forwarded to said Naming Board through the proper channels.
