A RESOLUTION OF TEL CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, CALLING AN
ELECTION AT WHICH THERE SHALL BE SUBMITTED
TO A VOTE THE MATTER OF ISSUANCE OF BONDS
OF SAID CITY IN ThE SUM OF 4p1,670,000.00
FOR THE PURPOSES IN THIS .RESOLUTION STATED.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Miami Beach, Florida,
deems it advisable to issue bonds of said City in amounts and for
municipal purposes as follows:
1. Nine hundred twenty thousand (: 920,000.00) Dollars for
the purpose of acquiring, for golf course, park and other municipal
purposes, property located in said City and known as "Bay Shore
Golf Course", which, if acquired by purchase, will, upon the payment
of Two hundred eighty thousand ($280,000.00) Dollars in cash, be
conveyed to said City subject to a mortgage for Six hundred forty
thousand ( 640,000.00) Dollars, which bears interest at the rate
of 4 ;0 per annum, and under the terms of which maximum payments
upon the principal thereof are permissible as follows:
February 1, 1945, ;¢213,333.33;
February 1, 1946, 413,333.33;
February 1, 1947, 9213,333.34;
and under the terms of which minimum payments are required as
follows:
February 1, 1945, 0,128,000.00;
February 1, 1946, $128,000.00;
February 1, 1947, 1128,000.00;
February 1, 1948, 0128,000.00;
February 1, 1949, 0128,000.00.
2. Five hundred thousand (0500,000.00) Dollars for the purpose
of constructing a water supply main across Biscayne Bay on or near
North Bay Causeway, together with necessary pumping equipment and
connections to the idiiami Beach water distribution system.
3. Two hundred fifty thousand ( ;p250,000.00) Dollars for the
purpose of constructing additional trunk lines and improvements
to the pumping facilities at the 11th Street and 28th Street sani-
tary sewers pumping systems, including increasing the capacity of
the force main from the 11th Street system.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA:
SECTTTION 1. That subject to the authorization of the duly
registered and qualified voters of said City, who are freeholders
therein, participating in the election according to law, which is
hereinafter called, negotiable coupon bonds of the City of Miami
Beach, Florida, shall be issued in the sums and for the purposes
stated in the notice of election provided for in Section 6 of this
resolution.
SECTION 2. That a special election is hereby called and
directed to be held in the City of Miami Beach, Florida, from
seven o' clock A. M. , until sundown on the 4th day of April, A. D.
1944, for the purpose of submitting to a vote of the duly registered
and qualified voters of said City, who are freeholders therein, the
question whether bonds of said City shall be issued in the sums and
for the purposes stated in the notice of election provided for in
Section 6 of this resolution.
SECTION 3. That the City Clerk, who is also Supervisor of
Registration, open the books of said City from nine o'clock A. M. ,
until five o'clock P. M. each day, Sundays and holidays and half-
holidays excepted, from March 2nd, 1944, until March 25th, 1944,
for the purpose of registering those persons who are qualified to
register for this election.
SECTION 4. For the purpose of holding and conducting said
election the City of Miami Beach has been divided into voting pre-
cincts or election districts with Polling Places therein as follows:
PRECINCT NO. 24: Being all the area within the City of Miami
Beach lying NORTH of Everglades Concourse and NORTH of 71st Street,
the polling place of which shall be at Surfside Park Life Guard Station,
Ocean Front, between 72nd and 73rd Streets.
PRECINCT NO. 25 : Being the area within the City of Miami Beach
lying between Everglades Concourse and 71st Street ON THE NORTH
and 51st Street ON TEE SOUTH, the polling place of which shall be
at the 69th STREET FIRE STATION, situated at 6860 Indian Creek
Drive.

PRECINCT NO. 26 : Being the area within the City of Miami
Beach lying between 51st Street ON THE NORTH and A LINE ON THE SOUTH
running Westerly from the Atlantic Ocean along the centerline of
34th Street to Biscayne Waterway, thence Westerly along the center-
line of Biscayne Waterway to Biscayne Bay, the polling place of
which shall be at THE AUDITORIUM OF NORTH BEACH ELEMENTARY SCHOOL,
situated on the Northeast corner of the intersection of 41st Street
and Chase Avenue.
PRECINCT NO. 27: Being the area within the City of Miami Beach
lying between the South line of Precinct No. 26, ON THE NORTH, and
A LINE ON THE SOUTH running Westerly from the Atlantic Ocean along
the centerline of 23rd Street to Dade Boulevard, thence along the
centerline of Dade Boulevard to Biscayne Bay, also including Belle
Isle, Rivo Alto Island, Di Lido Island and San Marino Island, the
polling place of which shall be at THE DADE BOULEVARD FIRE STATION,
situated on the Northwest corner of the intersection of Dade Boule-
vard and Pine Tree Drive.
PRECINCT NO. 28: Being the area within the City of Miami Beach
lying between the South line of Precinct No. 27, ON TEE NORTH and
A LINE ON THE SOUTH running Westerly from the Atlantic Ocean along
the centerline of 15th Street to Bay Road, thence South along the
centerline of Bay Road to 14th Street, thence West along the center-
line of 14th Street to Biscayne Bay, the polling place of which shall
be at 1659 Meridian Avenue.
PRECINCT NO. 29 : Being the area within the City of Miami Beach
lying between the South line of Precinct No. 28, ON THE NORTH and
A LINE ON THE SOUTH running Westerly from the Atlantic Ocean along
the centerline of 11th Street to Meridian Avenue, thence South along
the centerline of ,Meridian Avenue to 10th Street, thence Westerly
along the centerline of 10th Street to Biscayne Bay, the Polling
Place of which shall be at THE FIRE STATION IN THE CITY HALL BUILD-
ING, situated on 12th Street between Washington Avenue and Drexel
Avenue.
PRECINCT NO. 30 : Being the area within the City of Miami Beach
lying between the South line of Precinct No. 29, ON THE NORTH and
A LINE ON THE SOUTH running Westerly from the Atlantic Ocean along
the centerline of 7th Street to Alton Road, thence South along the
centerline of Alton Road to 6th Street, thence Westerly along the
centerline of 6th Street to Biscayne Bay, the polling place of which
shall be at THE LIFE GUARD STATION situated in Lummus Park on the
Ocean Front at 10th Street .
PRECINCT NO. 31: Being the area within the City of Miami Beach
lying between the South line of Precinct No. 30, ON THE NORTH and
A LINE ON THE SOUTH running Westerly from the Atlantic Ocean along
the centerline of 3rd Street to Alton Road, thence along the South
line of Lot 32 in Block 111 of Ocean Beach Addition No. 3, to Biscayne
Bay, also including Star Island, Palm Island and Hibiscus Island,
the polling place of which shall be at the OLD CITY HALL BUILDING,
situated at 617 Collins Avenue.
PRECINCT NO. 32: Being all the area within the City of Miami
Beach lying South of the South line of Precinct No. 31, also includ-
ing the Causeway property and the islands South of the County Causeway,
the polling place of which shall be at THE POLICE TRAFFIC DEPARTMENT
BUILDING, situated at 111 Meridian Avenue.
All being places where elections are usually held in said
municipality.
All electors shall vote at the polling places in the voting
precinct in which the City Registration Books show that said
electors reside.
SECTION 5. That thirty days' notice of said election shall be
given by publication in Miami Beach Sun & Daily Tropics, a newspaper
published in the City of Miami Beach, Florida. Such publication shall
be made at least once in each week for four consecutive weeks during
said period of thirty days.
SECTION 6. That said notice of election shall be in substantially

"NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that an election has been
called by the City Council of the City of Miami
Beach, Florida, and will be held in said City from
seven o'clock A. Y. until sundown on the 4th day of
April, A. D. 1944, at which there shall be submitted
to the duly registered and qualified voters of said
City who are freeholders therein, the following
questions:
"1. Shall the City of Miami Beach, Florida, issue
negotiable coupon bonds in the amount of Nine hundred
twenty thousand (: 920,000.00) Dollars, with interest at
a rate hereafter to be determined, not exceeding 3
per annum, for the purpose of acquiring, for golf course,
park and other municipal purposes, property located in
said City and known as "Bay Shore Golf Course", which,
if acquired by purchase, will be conveyed to said City
on the terms, and in the manner, set forth in Resolution
No. 5717 passed and adopted by the City Council on the
1st day of March, A. D. 1944?
"2. Shall the City of Miami Beach, Florida, issue
negotiable coupon bonds in the amount of Five Hundred
thousand ( 4:500,000.00) Dollars, with interest at a
rate hereafter to be determined, not exceeding 3- %
per annum, for the purpose of constructing a water
supply main across Biscayne Bay on or near North Bay
causeway together with necessary pumping equipment
and connections to the Miami Beach water distribution
system?
"3. Shall the City of Miami Beach, Florida, issue
negotiable coupon bonds in the amount of Two hundred
fifty thousand (4250,000.00) Dollars, with interest
at a rate hereafter to be determined, not exceeding
3 �o per annum, for the purpose of constructing additional

31, also including the Causeway property andthe islands
South of the County Causeway, the polling place of which
