Resolution 5867 RESOLUTION NO. 5867 TO C. W. TOMLINSON CITY CLERK, TAX COLLECTOR AND REGISTRAR, MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA August 3, 1920, to August 3, 1945 WHEREAS, C. W. Tomlinson has served with distinction for a quarter of a century as City Clerk, Tax Collector and Registrar in charge of elections; and WHEREAS, during the past twenty-five years his tireless, capable and unselfish service has assisted in Miami Beach' s rise to faire as a world resort and as a city of efficient operation and financial stability; and WHEREAS, he has kept in such close touch with property owners that he has encouraged prompt tax collections, equal to or better than those of any other municipality in the country; and WHEREAS he has continuously taken 'the lead among the nation' s City Clerks in installing new, efficient and time-saving methods of operation; and WHEREAS, he has been generously commended by nationally-known bond attorneys for the excellent manner in which he has kept the City' s records; and WHEREAS, his treatment of residents and visitors, who sought his advice or help, has been marked by his genial smile, graciousness and courtesy--an inspiration to all his employees; and WHEREAS, he has been held in high esteem, respected and admired by his own employees, City officials and department heads and count- less residents and visitors; and WHEREAS, Tommy (as he is familiarly known by citizens in all walks of life) has reflected the spirit of hospitality for which Miami Beach became famous; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Miami Beach, Florida., that C. W. Tomlinson be highly commended and con- gratulated for twenty-five years of the kind of service that helps make cities great and people glad to have known him. BE IT FURTHEF RESOLVED that this token of the citizens ' and City government ' s appreciation of his services be framed and pre- sented to him. PASSED AND ADOPTED on this the let day of August, A.
