CLAUDE A. RENSHAW
City Manager, Miami Beach, Florida
September 13, 1925, to September 13, 1945
WHEREAS, Claude A. Renshaw has been the spearhead in Miami
Beach' s rise to world fame as a resort during the twenty years he
has served unselfishly, capably and tirelessly as City Manager;
and
WHEREAS, he has led Miami Beach to the top in municipal
government based upon financial stability and efficient operation;
and
WHEREAS, his ability and public service have been largely
responsible for Miami Beach' s enviable position among municipali-
ties throughout the world; and
WHEREAS, the International City Managers Association paid
tribute to him as one of the outstanding managers in the profession;
and
WHEREAS, he is the kind of man who considers his daily tasks
as a matter of course without any expectation of reward or recog-
nition; and
WHEREAS, he has directed the finances and business of Miami
Beach' s city government in such a manner that he has gained the
respect and admiration of the municipal world; and
WHEREAS, his vision, ability and character have been an
inspiration to city councils and city employees; and
WHEREAS, city employees and city councils appreciate the oppor-
tunity to have been associated with him during the last two decades;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Miami Beach City Council
that Claude A. Renshaw be highly commended for his great contribu-
tion to Miami Beach' s progress and development.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this token of citizens' , city
councils' and city employees' appreciation of his services be
spread on the minutes of this meeting and a copy of it framed
and presented to him.
PASSED and ADOPTED on this the 13th day of September, A. D.
1945.
