Resolution 6283 RESOLUTION NO. 6283 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, CANVASSING THE RETURNS OF THE SPECIAL ELECTION HELD APRIL 22, 1947, AND DECLARING THE RESULT TO BE AGAINST THE LEVY OF ONE ADDITIONAL MILL FOR THE YEARS 1947 AND 1948 FOR PUBLICITY AND ADVERTISING PURPOSES. WHEREAS, this City Council has made a canvass of the returns of the certificates of the Inspectors and Clerks who held and con- ducted the Special Election held on April 22, 1947, such canvass having been made solely, exclusively and entirely from such returns , NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Miami Beach, Florida, that we do hereby find and declare that the total number of votes cast in said election in favor of the levy and the total number of votes cast in said election against the levy were as follows: -. Upon the question: "SHALL THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, HAVE THE AUTHORITY, FOR EACH OF THE YEARS 1947 AND 1948, TO LEVY, FOR PUBLIC- ITY AND ADVERTISING PURPOSES, A MAXIMUM OF TWO (2) MILLS ON THE DOLLAR OF THE TAXABLE CASH VALUE OF ALL PROPERTY IN SAID CITY, BOTH REAL AND PERSONAL?" 429 votes were cast, of which 166 votes were "For Levy" and 262 votes were "Against Levy". NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that we do hereby declare that the levy has not been duly and legally approved by the voters, as provided by law. PASSED and ADOPTED this 25th day of April, A.
