Dear Mr. Cline,
I am a historian who is writing a book on the
history of Miami Beach. ( I also write a local
history column for the Miami Herald and used to be
editor of The Miami News until it closed in 1988. )
In the course of this history book, you play a
role. I can recall as a teenager in the late 1940s
your visits to the beach at Lummus Park and also
on Lincoln Road. (We teens were quite cruel to
you, I believe, but such are teenagers. )
Anyhow, I would like the opportunity to speak with
you about your experiences as an evangelist over
the years in Miami Beach. I am told you have no
telephone but if you could arrange to get to one,
I can be reached at 235-1130. My home address,
should you care to correspond, is at the bottom of
this letter.
It is important that I get an opportunity to speak
with you. I have tried to locate you for some
months now and had no idea you still were active
in your work until a friend bumped into you
outside the Miami Beach Boat Show.
Please contact me.
Most sincerely,
Howard Kleinberg
