Called to order at 1:00 pm.
Ongoing Business:
A. Approval of the April 10, 2018 minutes, motion by Dale Stein, second by Herb Sosa. All
in favor.
B. MBPD Updates – N/A
C. GMCVB / social media updates – Josie: Launching 2018 Found In Miami Campaign.

New Business:
A. Commissioner Góngora visited the meeting-
Discussed involvement in community, legislation sponsored, open to helping
with future issues
Focused on anti-bullying
Will report back on single use restroom facility, request LTC from City
Manager
Concerned about perception of being soft on crime
(Stephan suggests permanent billboard welcoming visitors with message of
embracing diversity- will revisit)
B. Discussion on policies for sponsorships–
Stephan Ginez: brought up World Out Games and presented transcripts and
emails
Commissioner Góngora: possible proposal for City funded organizations
require board to complete training
Herb motioned: ask City to consider developing nonprofit board of directors
training program required for all nonprofits doing b usiness in the City and that

receive funding from the City. Offer same training on elective basis to any
other no profit. Jamie seconded. All in favor.
C. Presentation from Cindy regarding homelessness-
Lambda Living, which is a part of JCS launched a new housing program for
LGBTQ seniors, which is phased 1. They placing 3 people in independent
housing. Goal is to have a 30 unit apartment building.

1) HRC Rating (Dale, Herb, Cindy, Liz)
2) LGBTQ Visibility/Marketing/ Tourism(George, Gayle, Mark, Jamie, Alex, Stephen)
3) Health and Wellness (Ricki, Jamie, Craig, David, Robin)
4) Ad Hoc committee on LGBTQ Sponsorships (Robin, Liz, David, Cindy)
