A RESOLUTION OF TEE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, CANVASSING THE
RETURNS OF THE SPECIAL ELECTION HELD APRIL
27, 191+8, AND DECLARING THE RESULT TO BE FOR
THE APPROVAL OF THE MEASURE KNOWN AS ORDINANCE
NO. 81+5, PASSED AND ADOPTED ON ITS THIRD AND
FINAL READING ON THE 18TH DAY OF FEBRUARY,
1948.
WHEREAS, this City Council has made a canvass of the returns of
the certificates of the Inspectors and Clerks who held and conducted
the Special Election held on April 27, 1948, such canvass having been
made solely, exclusively and entirely from such returns;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Miami Beach, Florida, that we do hereby find and declare that the total
number of votes cast in said election for the approval of the measure
and the total number of votes cast in said election against the approval
of the measure were as follows :
Upon the question: "SHALL ORDINANCE NO. 845 AS PASSED AND
ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI BEACH, AORIDA, ON FEBRUARY
18, 1948 , BECOME EFFECTIVE, SAID ORDIN-
ANCE BEING ENTITLED: "AN ORDINANCE
PROVIDING FOR THE CREATION AND MAIN-
TENANCE OF A PENSION AND RETIRE:MMENT
SYSTEM FOR CERTAIN EMPLOYEES OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA"? 966
votes were cast, of which 914 votes
were "For the Measure" and 52 votes
were "Against the Measure".
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that we do hereby declare
that the measure known as Ordinance No. 845, passed and adopted on its
third and final reading on the 18th day of February, 1948 , has been
duly and legally approved by the voters as provided by law.
