Resolution 6615 RESOLUTION NO. 6615
WHEREAS, MAX SILVIIR and AIT_:A SILVER, and SAMUEL SILV._TR and
i -LY SILVER, did institute civil suits in the Circuit Court for
Dade County to recover damages against the City of Miami Beach
and '.Willie Jack Godfrey, an employee truck driver of said City,
being Circuit Court Case No. 21638-A and No. 21637-F, respectively,
and
WHEREAS, the two actions were tried in the said Circuit
Court resulting in jury verdicts for the defendants on June 23 ,
1;4, , and
WHEREAS, on July 1, 1948, the said Circuit Court issued
Orders granting the respective plaintiffs new trials, and
WHEREAS, the City Council has authorized the City Attorney
to appeal to the Supreme Court of Floricia from the said Orders
granting new trials, and
nrEAS, the City Council has been advised by the City
Attorney that a supersedeas bond must be filed in each case to
stay further proceedings. in the Circuit Court pending disposition
of said appeals,
NOW, TliijttEFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY TL_ CITY COUNCIL of the
City of Miami Beach, Florida, that the I'iayor and the City Clerk
be and they are hereby authorized and directed to execute super-
sedeas bonds in the amounts of $250.00 each, as fixed
by the said Circuit Court.
