Resolution 7026 RESOLUTION NO. 7026
WHEREAS the City of Miami Beach, Florida, has been
a legal and separate governmental unit for nearly 35 years,
and
WHEREAS the City of Miami Beach has grown, through
constant and continued advertising of its unparalleled year—
'round climate and healthful living facilities, into the
10th largest city in Florida and one of the worldts most
popular resorts, and
WHEREAS it is needful that Miami Beach, if it is to
continue in its progress and growth, ever maintain its
name before the world at large,
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Southern Bell
Telephone Company, because of the large volume of business
it handles emanating from Miami Beach, and because Miami
Beach is indeed a separate and distinct governmental entity
and so has been for nearly 35 years, be and it is hereby
respectfully requested so to recognize Miami Beach. The
Southern Bell Telephone Company is urged to instruct its
operators, in their handling of long—distance calls origi—
nating at Miami Beach, to inform parties being called by
Miami Beach clients that Miami Beach is calling. Such
procedure, it is felt, will accord to Miami Beach the
recognition which is due this city, and will be in the
interest of accuracy.
