Markets RFP Evaluation Committee Orientation Meeting

The purpose of this LTC is to update the Mayor and City Commission on the Request for
Proposals for the management and operation of the street markets on Espanola Way,
Lincoln Road and Normandy Island.
An evaluation committee orientation meeting has been scheduled for Wednesday, January
22, 2003, from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. in the City Manager's Small Conference Room.
This meeting is to familiarize the committee members with the Cone of Silence, the RFP,
selection criteria and the expectations of their role as an evaluation committee member.
Typically, at this meeting, the committee members decide how they propose to proceed in
the process in evaluating the proposals, i.e. short listing proposals, request presentations,
interview bidders etc...
I am recommending that the committee proceed with evaluating the proposals by
scheduling, an additional meeting(s) for presentations by the different bidders. Each
market location will be heard separately and the property owners/merchants will be invited
to participate by giving their input either the hour before or the hour after the market
presenters, thereby giving them an opportunity to voice their concerns and desires.
