The 2003 Yacht & Brokerage Show, a multi-million dollar presentation of yachts produced
by Yachting Promotions, Inc. (YPI), is being held in Miami Beach for its 15th year and will
include the world's most extraordinary and uniquely designed superyachts from the
foremost custom boatbuilders nationally and internationally. The presentation will cover
more than 1.4 million square feet of space featuring over 500 new and pre-owned vessels
valued at more than three-quarters of a billion dollars.
For the first time since its inception, the show will be permitted via a Special Events Permit;
therefore, YPI must comply with all required elements as prescribed by the Special Events
Permit Requirements and Guidelines. Moreover, YPI must also adhere to the provisions of
the Conditional Use Permit as approved by the City's Planning Board on September 24,
2002, and as amended on January 28, 2003.
As in previous years, YPI has requested to use a portion of the City-owned property known
as the 46th Street out-lots directly across the street from the parking facility located on 46th
Street and Collins Avenue. The out-lots, approximately 600 feet along the seawall on
Indian Creek, will be used to place floating docks to dock and moor yachts and other
vessels for the show.
The event, including set-up and breakdown dates, is scheduled to run from January 24,
2003, through February 23, 2003, as listed below:

Special Event Permit Requirements and Guidelines
Under the Special Events Permits Requirements and Guidelines, YPI has complied with
the following minimum requirements:
· $250.00 Application Fee
· $250.00 Permit Fee
· $2,500.00 Security Deposit
· Site Plan, including all temporary structures to be placed on public
property
Event Questionnaire (i.e. a production schedule) including specifics
regarding the move-in and move-out
· Certificate of Insurance, naming the Cityof Miami Beach as the certificate
holder and additionally insured for General Liability in the amount of
$2,000,000 per occurrence
· Indemnity Agreement
A series of internal City meetings were held on January 14, 2003 and January 28, 2003 to
coordinate the following:
Public Safety and Security Plan
The City of Miami Beach Police Department, including Marine Patrol, and the
Miami Beach Fire Department have made the following recommendations to insure
a safe and controlled event:

At least one Officer must remain on site at all times (24 hours) beginning one night prior to
Show and through show dates.
At least one Fire Inspector must remain on site at all times (24 hours) from the beginning of
Move-in to the end of Move-out.
Parking and Transportation Plan
A shuttle service, from 73rd Street to 42nd Street, will be available for all show
patrons at the event drop-off sites on 49~, 47th and 44th Streets. The shuttle service
will run every 15 minutes, and begin one hour before, and end one hour after the
show's hours of operation, 10:00 am to 7:00 pm.
The operation of the 63rd Street bridge will be restricted from its normal on
demand opening schedule. During "set-up" and "breakdown" periods, the bridge
shall open on signal, except that between the hours of 7:00 AM and 9:00 AM, and
between 4:30 PM and 7:00 PM, the openings shall be limited to no more than ten
(10) minutes each and only once per hour.
YPI will provide electronic signs which will inform the public of bridge openings
during the move-in and move-out dates, and provide parking information dudng the
show dates. The electronic signs will be located at the following locations:
-65th Street and Indian Creek Drive for southbound traffic (Brittany Bay Park)
-63rd Street and Pinetree Drive for eastbound traffic
YPI has arranged, through the City's Parking Department, the use of 39 parking
spaces at the 46th Street parking lot to accommodate the following:
-One Office Trailer 21' wide by 55'long

-One Restroom Trailer 21' wide by 55'long
-Four 8 yard, or One 20/30 yard dumpster
-Four Service Vehicles (Vans/Pick-up Trucks)

Sanitation Plan
YPI has contracted Profest to provide for all event sanitation needs, including but
not limited to the distribution of trash receptacles throughout the site, maintaining
the site and disposing all litter, and providing all the necessary tools for a proper
clean-up. In addition, YPI will be responsible for restoring the site to its original
condition, including the clean-up of any trash and/or debris found on the shoreline of
the Indian Creek waterway (up to the high tide line) between the Shows southern
and northern boundaries.
Participants attending the show will be able to use the existing restroom facilities at
the 46th Street Parking Lot, as well as portable units (Crowd Pleasers) provided by
YPI.

Under the Special Event Permit, YPI will be required to enter into a written concession
agreement with the City of Miami Beach which provides 10% of all gross revenues derived
from the booth rental for food and beverage vendors and of any boat slips or dock space in
the waterway adjacent to the City-owned out-lots, approximately 600 feet along the Seawall
on Indian Creek. Revenue collected under the Concession Agreement with YPI is
$37,835.10. Total revenues collected by the City of Miami Beach, including the Application
and Permit Fee, is $38,335.10.
