The goal of the project is to train people to recognize heart attacks, strokes and sudden cardiac arrest, to administer CPR and operate Automatic External Defibrillators. Defibrillation within three minutes is considered to be the best way to save a person in cardiac arrest. A major part of this initiative is to place Automatic External Defibrillators (AED'S), within three minutes of anyplace in the city. This AED is the sixth of 375 estimated to be the need for city entities.
