Nemo hotel. Family built it. Now Nemo's restaurant. Built in 1921.
She is 90 years old.
Harry Goodkowski, father, from Auburn, Maine, developer. Brother Joe proprietor and
owner of Lafayette Hotle and ran it, Old Orchard Beach, Me. More than 100 years ago;
kosher. They and rich uncle, Samuel Magid, mother's uncle, Two uncles and father came
down in 1921 and built first kosher hotel in Miami Beach.
Very successful. In 1938, Aaron and Myra Farr married there. Floor is the same tiny
black and white floor; restaurant was lobby; safe still there.
Father died 1922 at 39 y-o.
Aaron set up travel agency in 1927; Aaron's father H.H., in Miami.
Went into shortly. By 1938 (year married) well established at 5xxx Collins Avenue.
C ame down on train. When moved to Beach, Havana was big. $39.50 boat. SS Florida.
Big office in Roney Plaza. Another Lincoln Road.
Aaron had Alzheimer's last 10 years. Business. When airlines cut commissions,
computers pick out hotel rooms, Harvey sold it about 8 years.
Fan-Tours at beginning, then Far Travel. Package business: Four Star.
Nemo name: Forget. Sam Magid had huge jewelry manu company in Providence; name
Nemo Manufacturing Company.
