Morales , City Manag DATE : July 20, 2018 LETTER TO COMMISSION SUBJECT: Indian Creek Drive Flooding Mitiga on Project Update -Traffic Impacts The purpose of this Letter to Commission is to provide an update on upcoming traffic impacts associated with the Indian Creek Drive Flooding Mitigation Project. Roadway reconstruction improvements are scheduled to begin on Indian Creek and 32 Street on Monday, July 23rd_ The scope of work includes temporary roadway reconstruction and drainage improvements at the intersection of Indian Creek Drive and 32 Street. Due to the location of the construction improvements and in order to provide a safe environment for the construction workers and the public, a complete closure at the intersection of Indian Creek Drive and 32 Street will be necessary. The closure will last for approximately five days and will be reopen no later than Friday July 2ih. During this time, Collins Avenue between 34 Street and 31 Street will be converted to two-way traffic. This will allow for all Indian Creek southbound traffic to be routed to Collins Avenue. Water-filled barrier walls will be used for traffic separation along Coll ins Avenue and temporary signs will be installed . Pedestrian access to properties and on-street parking will be maintained at all times . Public parking along 34 Street and 31 Street will be ma intained during the project duration. JLM/~/£/LS/GP UPDATE Indian Creek Drive/State Road (SR) A 1 A Flooding Mitigation Proiect Upcoming Southbound Closure at 32 Street Work Zone and Tasks Beginning Monday, July 23, drainage and roadway work will continue along 32 Street between Indian Creek Drive and Collins Avenue. This work will temporarily close Indian Creek Drive and reroute southbound traffic to Collins Avenue between Wednesday, July 25 and Friday, July 27. W hat to Fxpect During the closure, a detour will be set up to guide drivers around the work . Motorists traveling south on Indian Creek Drive will have to: • Turn east on 34 Street • Turn south on Collins Avenue • Turn west on 3 l Street • Continue south on Indian Creek Drive Access to the side streets between 31 Street and 34 Street will be maintained through Collins Avenue. Northbound Collins Avenue traffic will not be impacted. This work is scheduled through the end of Friday, July 27. Please do not park within the work zones along Indian Creek Drive . Citations and towing will be enforced for unauthorized vehicles parked in these areas. Additional drainage and the final roadway work along Indian Creek Drive and side streets is expected to commence in the fall of 2018 .
