Resolution 7604 RESOLUTION NO. 7604
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Miami
Beach, Florida, that it is deemed to be to the best interest of
said City to secure the passage, at the 1951 Session of the
State Legislature, of a bill entitled:
"AN ACT AMENDING SECTION 1 OF CHAPTER 18691,
LAWS OF FLORIDA, ACTS OF 1937, ENTITLED:
"AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, TO ES-
TABLISH BY ORDINANCE A PENSION, ANNUITY
AND RETIREMENT SYSTEM FOR ANY OR ALL GROUPS
OF OFFICERS AND EMPLOYEES IN TIE SERVICE OF
SAID CITY; TO PROVIDE DISABILITY AND DEATH
BENEFITS; TO PROVIDE FOR CONTRIBUTION TO
THE COSTS THEREOF ON AN ACTUARIAL BASIS;
PROVIDING FOR THE MANNER IN WHICH OFFICERS
AND/OR EMPLOYEES(7IVIAY COME UNDER THE OPERA-
,
� TION OF SAID SYSTEM; PROVIDING FOR REPAYMENT
TO MEMBERS LEAVING THE SERVICE OF THE CITY;
PROVIDING FOR THE INVESTMENT OF FUNDS CRE-
ATED UNDER SAID SYSTEM; PROVIDING FOR THE
ADMINISTRATION OF SAID SYSTEM; AND PROVIDING
FOR THE SUBMISSION OF SAID ORDINANCE TO RE-
FERENDUM OF QUALIFIED VOTERS OF SAID CITY;
WHEN SAID ACT SJALL TAKE EFFECT AND OTHER
MATTERS RELATING TtERE"'TO. ""
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that copies of this Resolution and
of said Bill be furnished to the Honorable R. b. Gautier, Jr. ,
the Honorable Robert L. Floyd, the Honorable George Okell, and
the Honorable Dante B. Fascell, Members of the Florida Legis-
lature from Dade County, and that they each be respectfully re-
questedto see that said Bill be introduced and passed at said
Session.
