A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, CANVASSING THE RETURNS
OF THE SPECIAL ELECTION HELD JANUARY 22, 1952,
AND DECLARING THE RESULT TO BE FOR THE APPROVAL
OF THE ORDINANCE KNOWN AS ORDINANCE NO. 995,
PASSED AND ADOPTED ON ITS THIRD AND FINAL READING
ON THE 5TH DAY OF DECEMBER, 1951.
WHEREAS the City Council has made a canvass of the returns of
the certificates of the Inspectors and Clerks who held and conducted
the special election held on January 22, 1952, for the approval or dis-
approval of Ordinance No. 995, such canvass having been made solely,
exclusively and entirely from such returns;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City
of Miami Beach, Florida, that we do hereby find and declare that the
total number of votes cast in said election for the approval of said
Ordinance No. 995 and the total number of votes cast in said election
against the approval of said Ordinance No. 995 were as follows:
Upon the question: "Shall the ordinance known as Ordinance No.
995, passed and adopted on its third and
final reading on the 5th day of December,
1951, and entitled, "AN ORDINANCE GRANTING
TO FLORIDA POWER & LIGHT COMPANY, ITS SUC-
CESSORS AND ASSIGNS, AN RTYCTRIC FRANCHISE,
AND IMPOSING PROVISIONS AND CONDITIONS RE-
LATING THERETO", be approved or disapproved?"

64 votes were cast, of which 4917
votes were cast "For the Ordinance"and
2067 votes were cast "Against the Ordi-
nance".
AND, THEREFORE, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that we do hereby declare
that the ordinance known as Ordinance No. 995, passed and adopted on its
third and final reading on the 5th day of December, 1951, has been
duly and legally approved by the voters as provided by law.
PASSED and ADOPTED this 4..72'day of Janusry, 1952.
