RESOLUTION NO. 8060
PROVIDING FOR THE ELECTION OF A REGULAR
EMPLOYEE OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH AS
A NON-VOTING MEMBER OF THE PERSONNEL
BOARD REPRESENTING GROUP THREE.
',WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of erection 4 of
Chapter 18696, Laws of Florida, Acts of 1937, as amended in 1951,
it is provided that there shall be three employees of regular
status elected to the Personnel Board of the City of Iiami Beach
as non-voting members thereof, and.,
WHEREAS, the term of office of the non-voting member
of the Personnel Board representing Group 3 of employees of regular
and probationary status expires at midnight, July 31st, 1952 , and,
WHEREAS, it is therefore necessary that an election be
called for the purpose of electing a non-voting member of the
Personnel Board to represent said Group 3 for the three year term
commencing August 1st, 1952,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT hEJOLVED by the City Council of
the City of i%iami Beach, Florida, that a primary election and an
election are hereby called for the purposes of electing a non-
voting member of the Personnel Board for Group 3, said primary
to be held between the hours of 7.00 a.m. and 7.00 p.m. on Tuesday,
July 22nd, 1952, and said election to be held between the hours of
7.00 a.m. and 7.00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 29th, 1952.
SECTION fThat the City Cleric be and he is hereby instructedto
notify the members of Group 3 of the' said primary
election and election by posting notices stating the
time, place and purpose of same, in a conspicuous place in each and
every department of the City wherein members of Group 3 are employed .
SECTION 2: That for the purpose of holding and conducting said •
primary and election, the City Olerk is hereby authorized
to appoint three employees to serve as Inspectors ,
SECTION 3: That the City Clerk be and he is hereby appointed. as
Supervisor of said primary and election, and is hereby
further instructedto provide ballots and all necessary
paraphernalia to the Inspectors, to enable them to properly hold and
conduct said primary and election.
SECTION 4: That the three employees receiving the highest number of
votes cast at the primary on July 22nd in Group 3, shall
be the only candidates for Board ihiembers to be voted on
at the election to be held on July 29th, provided, however, that
should any employee receive a majority of the votes cast at the
primary, he shall be declared elected a member of the Personnel Board
and the election in said Group 3, as herein planned, shall be omitted.
SECTION 5: That immediately after the polls are closed in the
primary and in the Election herein called , the Inspectors
shall proceed to open the ballot box and count the
ballots cast, tabulating the result, and upon completion of said
count they shall promptly certify the result of said primary or
election, as the case may be, to the City Clerk in duplicate, on

forms to be supplied them by the said City Clerk.
SECTION 6: That the City Clerk be and he is hereby instructed to
present to the City Council, at their first meeting
following the holding of said election, the Certifi-
cates of said Inspectors as to the result of said election, where-
upon this Body shall canvass said certificates and declare the
result.
