Resolution 8206 RESOLUTION NO. 8206
The City Council of Miami Beach, Florida, has learned with
the deepest sorrow of the sudden and untimely passing of this
area's most outstanding educator and humanitarian -- Dr. Bowman F.
Ashe .
It was his good judgment, wise counsel and extraordinary
sense of human needs and values that guided the destinies of the
University of Miami over the years since its inception to its
present status as one of the leading educational institutions
in the nation -- a most fitting memorial to this great citizen.
His name has been indelibly inscribed on the annals of our country.
The Personal charm of Dr. Ashe was interwoven with a quiet
strength of dignity and a fineness of feeling for his fellow man
which won the respect and affection of all.
Therefore, Be It Resolved, that this Resolution be spread
upon the minutes of the City Council of Miami Beach, Florida, and
a copy be sent to the family of Dr. Bowman F. Ashe as a lasting
testimonial of our sincere sympathy, with the hope that our
appreciation of his rare skill and understanding may, in some
measure, lighten the burden of their bereavement.
DONE on December 24+, 1952, at a meeting of the City Council
of Miami Beach, Florida, in the City Council Chambers at City
Hall .
